Horoscopes
On June 11, we all felt a shift from an earthy, income- and pleasure-driven need to hunker down and nestle in to a sudden universal clarity of insight, especially for communications, media and technology. Companies involved in these interests will experience an explosion of expansion and profits, as long as they operate out of integrity and possess a humanitarian agenda. We all benefit from this new prosperity and intelligence. Mercury goes retrograde on the 14th, so be careful not to sign anything important until after August 8.

You: One of of you,
Mike Tyson, is considered one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time and is known for his ferocious boxing style and controversial behavior in and out of the ring. After a particularly nasty lawsuit, he said, “Professionally, it has no effect, but it’s crushing emotionally and personally.” Classic Cancer. No matter what happens in your life, it always affects you personally. Job crisis? Personal. Money issues? Personal. Car problems? Personal. You’re fundamentally conservative and home loving, a good housekeeper, willingly care for the sick, but you don’t enjoy wasting money. You aren’t flighty, and you appreciate the nest-like quality of a secure base. You’re sympathetic and kindly, sensitivity to other people (especially those you love). You stash money in odd places. You have a keen imagination, but sometimes you can be over-imaginative and prone to fantasy. Mentally, you are a mixture of tough and soft. You understand that there is a time to socialize and a time to be solitary, you can be sentimental, and you hang on like the crab that is your totem. If you can reconcile the urge to be outgoing with the desire to withdraw in to yourself, then you can inspire a generation, especially the youthful part of it, by your idealism.
Your Month: This month, there is no stopping you, in the house, at least. You don’t need to go out to have fun—fun is tearing out closets, packing away old files and removing any useless things (family dramas included) that feel restrictive and limiting. You’re in a major spring-cleaning mode, inside and out. Your current living situation could feel tight or cramped (physically and/or emotionally), but that’s so you’ll get serious about stripping things away, downsizing or de-cluttering, and adding more of a solid structure to your domestic life. You’re not plumping your nest, you’re probably not actually moving it, but you are definitely re-building your nest, and for you, that feels like a complete re-organization of the soul.
Leo (July 23–Aug. 23): This month is one of those times when your flesh is willing but your spirit is weak. Your presence is in high demand in the ever-growing arena of your social network, but you would really rather stay home and knit. Or cook. Or read. But it’s just not possible. A guest arrives for a short stay and you’re forced to entertain. Can you draw the party back home? A cook-off? A Scrabble tournament? An impromptu dance party around the pool? Find a way to keep your verbal and literary friends entertained without barhopping. You may not get any sleep, but you’ll get a lot done.
Virgo (Aug. 24–Sept. 22): It’s an interesting month that keeps a Virgo overwhelmed with too many details. While your career and social standing explodes verbally and in print, you are busier than a one-eyed cat watching two mouse holes. So, the danger lies in over committing. How many projects can you do at one time? How many places can you inhabit at one time? Why does everyone seem to want you at the same time? Yes, this busy work cycle will go on for a while, so you might as well use your meager alone time to track your progress and plan the rest of the year, because the details are going to need quite a bit of organizing to pull off.
Libra (Sept. 23–Oct. 22): After a small respite, things now are heating up and getting lively and interesting. You’re energized, but don’t assume this new energy is limitless. Take care of your health and take only sure risks. Don’t gamble, even if you feel lucky (there are too many variables). Expect new developments in your love life, but you’ll have to be flexible and open-minded because you’re learning how to build partnerships slowly—the right way. And, take a trip. The best trip is a long trip. Anything exotic is lucky, and so is a position with a big corporation, but beware of Mercury retrograde after the 14th; watch what you say to or with friends and partners.
Scorpio (Oct. 23–Nov. 21): It’s a great month for your career: possible gifts, inheritances, sponsorships and investment returns, and extra profits for good business decisions—until Mercury goes retrograde on the July 14. You have until July 13 to finish up important deals and sign important papers. After that, stay on top of paperwork but don’t sign anything important; you’ll just have to re-do the paperwork after August 8. Bask in high status, high position and higher gains and income now. You could even make new friends in high places. In general, this is a good time for friendships, reviving old ones and making new ones.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21): July is a fun, lucky month. Everything at work should be coming up roses. There’s just one teeny problem: This is the time you may have to face the consequences of your casual approach to love. You took things lightly in the past, but now things may happen to help you own up to your mistakes. Be tactful and non-reactive. The best solution is to keep quiet and let things happen. Things will eventually settle down if you don’t make it worse by saying too much in your defense or becoming aggressive. Sometimes non-resistance is the best offense.
Capricorn (Dec. 22–Jan. 20): You may find this hard to believe, but you and your ego may get in the way of getting what you really want this month. What you really want is success at work, but people aren’t making it easy for you (especially men, bosses, etc.). You may be coming on a little too strong. You want a stable home, but you may be pushing too hard. You want a relationship, but lack of discipline and overindulgence may be a problem. What to do? Use your powers for good, not evil and show some love, or give some money to a worthy cause, be of service, work hard and try to be humble.
Aquarius (Jan. 21–Feb. 19): This month affects you more mentally than physically. It may be more than stressful to speak your mind at work; it could be self-destructive and give you a headache, so try to keep yourself out of any office drama and only offer your opinion when you’re with a friend you trust, and in private. Next month, you can speak up again. It is time, though, to have a private talk with a loved one who has been challenging you in the past year. Use soft words. It’s not the time for aggression. This also isn’t the time for you to spend money recklessly.
Pisces (Feb. 20–March 20): This is the month for secrets to be revealed. The veil is lifted, your eyes are opened and you see the truth, sort of. At work, things your co-workers have kept hidden are finally coming out in the open. Though these things may not affect you personally, you’ll start looking at your co-workers differently. And it’s not necessarily just your co-workers. When anyone tells you something you didn’t expect to hear, your first thought should be, “What can you do to help?” Talk about it. You can help more than you think, and you’ll feel closer.
Aries (March 21–April 20): You win! You get the best month. You just need to work on fine-tuning some of your plans. Are you supporting your long-range money goals? Are you spending too much? Are you sticking to your budget? It might be time to rein in so you can stay on top of your personal financial picture. But keep in mind Mercury retrograde begins on the 14th. That means you’ll have to re-do things. So please, don’t lose your patience or your temper. Try to keep your words to yourself and keep your cool. You don’t want to have to take anything back.
Taurus (April 21–May 21): Your creativity is off the charts, career wise, even though you may not think that what you do at work is creative. Trust your instincts: The more creative you are, the more money you can expect to make. And about your love life: If you’re already in a partnership, you can expect for the temperature in your relationship to heat up. You are sexy as hell, and everyone sees it and feels it. Not involved? Then this might be the month when you find someone, or if you aren’t interested in being part of a couple, you are everyone’s favorite date.
Gemini (May 22–June 20): This month, the best advice is: Don’t speak, especially impulsively or in anger, and you will be tested. You’ll be under the microscope a bit, so you need to be on your best behavior at work and at home. It’s going to be very easy, almost automatic, for you to fight back and defend yourself, but try to take a few deep breaths before you say anything you might regret later. Remember, it’s possible that you may not be right all the time, even if you think you are. There are opportunities all around you, just waiting for you to choose a new direction, but wait to move until Mercury’s retrograde is over on Aug. 8.
