The Woman’s Way Business Awards are the only business awards for woman-owned and -led businesses in Austin. As the only free publication solely for and about women who work and live in Austin, Austin Woman wanted to celebrate the important and influential achievements of our fellow women. Award recipients span numerous industries and are chosen by a selection committee of successful local female business and community leaders. Woman owned firms account for 30% of all enterprises and are growing faster in number and employment than most other firms. Texas is leading the way as the second fastest growth of women owned firms. A Woman’s Way award is a coveted endorsement for women all over Austin.
All nominees must be based in Austin and/or have a significant portion of operations and staff located in Austin. Please review the award categories for specific descriptions and eligibility requirements and the nomination criteria and selection process for additional details.
Must be 51% or more woman-owned (your signature will serve as affidavit to that fact for the nomination process, additional verification may be requested)

LEADERSHIP: WOMAN-OWNED BUSINESSES LEADING IN THEIR FIELD OF EXPERTISE
Health & Wellness: This woman-owned business is making a significant impact in the areas of physical or mental health, fitness, nutrition or medicine.
Product Innovation: This woman-owned business has developed a product and taken it to market. This can include a tangible/physical product or a technology-based product.
Goods & Services Provider: This woman-owned business is making a significant impact with the goods or services it provides clients such as accounting, legal work, consulting, human resources or other professional services.
PR & Marketing: This woman-owned business is making a significant impact by driving her clients’ business via new and traditional tools for media, marketing and public relations.
Digital Influencer: This woman-owned business is making a significant impact by transforming platforms such as websites, blogs, podcasts, newsletters, webinars or social media accounts into revenue-generating business while influencing its readers and followers.
PINNACLE: APPLICANT MUST BE A FEMALE BUSINESS OWNER, A FEMALE LEADING A COMPANY, OR AN INDIVIDUAL LEADER.
Technology: This woman-owned business or woman-led business is making a significant impact in the technology industry and in the effort to support the involvement of more females in this industry.
Rising Star: This woman-owned or woman-led business is less than 3 years old and is making a significant impact in Austin and in its industry at large with the potential to become market leaders.
Philanthropic Business of the Year: This woman-owned or woman-led business is making a significant impact in the community through financial support and/or volunteer services in addition to demonstrating advocacy for women’s issues, generosity of spirit and a commitment to social impact.
Woman-led Business of the Year: This woman-led business is making a significant impact in Austin and its industry at large in addition to demonstrating exceptional examples of inspiration, motivation and leadership. This business does not have to be woman-owned. Its purpose is to recognize businesses that have women in leadership and executive roles.
Woman-owned Business of the Year: This woman-owned business is making a significant impact in Austin and in its industry at large in addition to demonstrating exceptional examples of inspiration, motivation and leadership.
I AM AUSTIN WOMAN Woman of the Year: This woman is making a significant impact as an owner or a leader at a company or business in addition to demonstrating exceptional examples of inspiration, motivation and leadership to other female business and community leaders. Her career lengthy career and community involvement echoes the core mission of Austin Woman to foster an engaging and empowering conversation with and about the women of Austin.
The written entry which addresses why the nominee embodies the description of the respective award category and answers the following information:
• The company’s core values, goals and mission.
• A brief history of the company.
• Description of company’s leadership role in the local business community, specifically how it has cultivated and maintained that role.
• Description of the company’s culture, specifically how it supports its employees and their quality of life.
• Specific examples of how the company gives back to the Austin community.
We encourage all businesses to nominate themselves or their female owners or leaders directly. Businesses may also be nominated by another member of the business community, community leader or business organization.
STEP 1: Select the award(s) for which you would like to submit a nomination. Nominees may be entered in up to two categories. Each nomination must be submitted separately.
STEP 2: Submit the completed nomination criteria for each award category by using the online form, emailing it to email@example.com
NOMINATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN Friday, March 3rd.
The Awards Selection Committee will evaluate all nominees based on the submitted criteria and select finalists in each award category. Employees of Austin Woman administer and facilitate the awards selection process but do not participate in or in any way influence the Award Selection Committee's voting.
*Please note, if you are selected as a finalist you will be asked to submit a short video to accompany your application.
Finalists will be announced Tuesday, March 22.
Winners will be announced at the Woman’s Way Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the JW Marriott in Downtown Austin.
